Flirting Tips /

If you were about to date somebody offline then it would be natural for some flirting to take place in the early stages so why not online as well? Dating without flirting would be rather dull. Flirting is one the fun bits where we give out signals that we may be interested and the other one has to interpret - flirting is part of our daily lives. It can also be sexy and intriguing.

So how do we do this online where tone and meaning can be lost in the online medium? Some of the larger sites have actually put in place automated tools that will allow you to flirt very easily. This usually involves, blowing a kiss, winking or notifying somebody that you’ve added them to your favourites list.

Just as you would flirt using shortened words in a text message then the same can be done in your emails by inserting winks, smiling faces, into your email conversation. Other flirting shortcuts that you would use in text can also be used.

1. One way to keep the flirtation levels high is to respond quickly to messages as will show the person that you are interested and make them feel good.

2. To begin with ask innocent everyday questions that you would ask a colleague or friend such as “What are you up to this weekend?” Or “Having a good week?” These are easy straightforward ways to learn more about the other person without prying too much. After you have been communicating with someone for a while, you can start to probe a little further and see if you can find an opening in time when the two of you might meet.

3. Use your humour, not by telling a joke but a little wit to your conversation and a little gentle teasing usually doesn’t do any harm.

4. If you haven’t heard from the other person for a day or two then don’t bombard the other person’s mailbox with messages, instead leave one short, sweet message that lets them know you’re still interested and may prompt them to reply.

5. Once you have got to know your date a little and you feel comfortable then don’t be boring, why not be a little flirtatious and instead off signing off with “Talk to you soon” then be a little more adventurous and say “It was nice taking to you” or “ Maybe I’ll say good night face to face soon.”
