Building Self Esteem /
Everyone gets a little bit self conscious now and then, and when you’re in the dating game, fear of rejection can give your self esteem a bit of a pounding.
It’s also easy to get caught up in people’s perceptions of you. However, the experts at Dating Wizard know just how important it is to remember that confidence comes from within, and so the only thing that matters is how you perceive yourself.
But we also understand that self-confidence isn’t something that comes naturally to everyone. So we have got our heads together to give you a bit of guidance on how to build your self esteem, and recognise your true worth.
- Try not to focus on what other people think. Its easy to go be influenced by others opinions, but remember that what you feel is just as, if not more important
- Try not to compare yourself to others – whether its celebrities for how they look or entrepreneurs for their success or wealth. Think about how you look and your success, and if you’re not happy then focus on how you can realistically change your lifestyle so that you are.
- Keep reminding yourself of your positive qualities. Focusing on what you’re not 100% ok with will just bring you down even more, and that is not the right frame of mind to be in!
- It’s not about what you have. Try not to associate your self worth with material things, such as cars and flash clothes. It’s about who you are!
- Jealousy really damages your self esteem. Part of recognising your own strengths is being able to recognise and accept other people’s strengths as well.
- No one is perfect – so whether you are trying to be perfect or you are expecting other people to be perfect, it’s always going to end in disappointment.
- Don’t try so hard! Desperation for approval, or constant attempts to impress people will not do anything for the way you view yourself. Let your personality speak for itself.
- Think positive – it will show in the way you carry yourself
- And lastly, live for the day! Who knows what will happen tomorrow, so enjoy yourself and try to have fun!
