Banbury lies on the river of Cherwell and is in the district of Cherwell. It is a civil parish town and a market town which dates back to the Iron Age. In 2005 Princess Anne presented the town which a bronze statue of the fine lady on a white horse as mentioned in the nursery rhyme, it is found near the present Banbury Cross which after it was destroyed in 1602 wasn’t replaced till a good 250 years later in 1859.
