Whitchurch is a town in Hampshire on the River Test between Winchester and Basingstoke. Much of the town is a conservation area due to the amount of wildlife in and near the river. Parts of the town are designated as a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’. The name is Anglo Saxon in origin predictably meaning 'white church'.
