South Brent in Devon is considered a large village with a population of approximately 3,000 people. It sits close to the Devon Expressway making it a potential commuter village for Exeter or Plymouth with is only about 18 miles to the east. The railway came to the area in the late 1800’s but as with many branches from the main routes it was closed in the 1960’s due to a government cost saving exercise across the rail network.
